Desde Tumaco la perla del pacifico Nariñense, Helen Daniela Carabali Ordoñez ha dedicado su vida al oficio de recolección de la piangua, una labor que lleva con orgullo y amor, buscando visibilizar este oficio que representa para ella y para muchas mujeres las guardianas de los manglares.
Desde los 7 años, Helen miraba en su madre y en su padre ejemplo de entrega y dedicación a los oficios de recolección. Desde muy niña observaba todo el proceso que desarrollaba su madre en la recolección de la piangua, un molusco que habita en los manglares.
De la mano de mujeres piangueras, esta labor representa tradición, herencia y trabajo colectivo para llevar sustento a sus familias. Helen expresa con orgullo “Durante mucho tiempo me he dedicado a la piangua y hoy busco que este producto pueda ser llevado a la mesa en diferentes presentaciones como encocado, sudado, ceviche y cocteles, dándole un toque único a la gastronomía de nuestro pacífico”.
Juntanza de mujeres del pacifico para crecer en comunidad
Para Helen ser pianguera por vocación la ha llevado a conectar con sus raíces ancestrales, permitiéndole conocer a muchas mujeres y encontrar en ellas aliadas para trabajar en unidad. “Actualmente hago parte de Asoraíces del manglar, en donde ejerzo la labor de pianguera y lidero la parte administrativa y contable, desarrollando poco a poco mis habilidades financieras”.
La Asociación de Mujeres Concheras Raíces del Manglar, inicio en el año 2009 con 15 integrantes, algunas víctimas del conflicto armado, con el paso del tiempo, en el año 2016 se legalizo, y miraron que había otras artes y oficios que desarrollaban las mujeres como la preparación de alimentos, elaboración de artesanías, el cuidado ambiental y el turismo responsable a través de la ruta de la piangua.
“Actualmente, en Asoraíces del manglar contamos con 44 mujeres y un hombre, estamos organizadas en tres colectivos que se llaman Herencia, Dejando Huella y la Canoa, diversificando así las labores de las mujeres y reconociendo su dedicación y esfuerzo en cada tarea que desarrollamos día a día”.
Organizadas para crecer en unidad
Para las integrantes de Asoraíces del manglar la preparación constante ha sido una de sus banderas para alcanzar sus objetivos, gracias al proceso de formación del proyecto Raíces, conocieron el enfoque de género para integrar la importancia de la participación igualitaria entre hombres y mujeres en el desarrollo organizacional.
De igual manera, desde Raíces se brindó formación en fortalecimiento organizacional, “me gustó mucho poder replantearnos y mirar como asociación que tenemos y que nos hace falta mejorar, entre ello, temas como la misión, visión, organigrama y la identificación de las acciones de los comités que integran nuestra organización y las respectivas funciones”, destacó Helen.
Desde el proceso de formación se llevó a cabo la construcción participativa de manuales organizacionales, administrativos, contables y financieros, logrando que las organizaciones participantes, logren tener un nuevo panorama para fortalecer el desarrollo de sus actividades con un enfoque más incluso e igualitario donde se promueva la participación de las mujeres.
Con este proceso las mujeres lograron fortalecer sus capacidades personales y promover su empoderamiento y liderazgo en procesos productivos, “estos espacios nos han permitido darnos cuenta lo valiosa que somos, las habilidades que cada una tiene para aportarle a la asociación y sobre todo en el tema de género a llevar esta bandera a nuestras casas, para enseñarle a nuestros hijos e hijas y a nuestros esposos que la corresponsabilidad es importante”.
Hoy, Helen sueña con dejar un legado de amor por la labor de la piangua a su hija, para que se sienta orgullosa de sus raíces ancestrales y saberes culturales que llevan en sus manos muchas mujeres del pacifico nariñense.
